Axel Leblois
Executive Director, CIFAL Atlanta
Special Senior Fellow, UNITAR

A French citizen and resident of Atlanta since 1998 and of the United States since 1986, Axel Leblois Leblois was appointed as the Executive Director of CIFAL Atlanta and as a Special Senior Fellow of UNITAR in September 2004.

Prior to serving in this capacity, Mr. Leblois has led several information technology and education companies in the United States. Over the course of 15 years, he served as President of Computerworld Communications, CEO of International Data Corporation, President and CEO of Bull HN Information Systems, formerly Honeywell Information Systems, CEO of ExecuTrain and as a director of Boston Private Bank and Trust Corp., Wang Laboratories, IDG Books Worldwide. He has also served on the board of directors of several software companies in the United States, Europe and India.

Mr. Leblois also currently serves as Chairman of World Times, Inc. publisher of The WorldPaper, which organizes international ICT development programs in cooperation with the United Nations ICT Task Force, UNITAR the UNDP, and the World Bank through its affiliate, W2i, the Wireless Internet Institute. For the last several years, Mr. Leblois has served as a trustee, vice-chair and chair of the Board of the Atlanta International School since 1998. He is a graduate of Institut d’Études Politiques in Paris (Sciences Po), and holds an MBA of INSEAD.
